Louis Head is a small community situated on the south western shores of Nova Scotia's mainland and is a member of Shelburne County. Early settlers to Louis Head include John Cameron and his family, who arrived here in 1836 from Prince Edward Island. A year later, Lewis Lewis arrived with his family. A main industry in Louis Head is fishing. As well, Louis Head is positioned approximately 198 km (123 mi.) southwest of Halifax, traveling on Highway 103.

Louis Head is a great place to relax and rejuvenate. With tranquil beaches, unforgettable views of the Atlantic Ocean, vast skies that exhibit glorious sunrises and a long list of activities, Louis Head is an excellent vacation spot. Such activities include swimming in the ocean, hiking beautiful trails, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, bird-watching, bicycling and beachcombing. The nearby community of Shelburne, as well as the nearby Cape Sable Island, both offer insight into the history of Nova Scotia as well as numerous enticing attractions.
