Tusket is a small community located in Yarmouth County on Nova Scotia's south shore, along the Tusket River. First settlers to Tusket came in 1766, of Acadian origin, including Jacques Amirault. Before the Europeans, the Mi'kmaq occupied and named the land, calling it Neketaousksit, which stood for "a great, forked, tidal river." Tusket is home to the oldest standing courthouse in all Canada, which was erected way back in 1805. Tusket industries include agriculture, forestry and fishing among others. Tusket is approximately 291 km (180.8 mi.) west of Halifax.

Tusket is home to the Spring-Haven Canoe Outfitting Tusket, which allows guests to travel with a guide in a canoe, experience the wilderness first hand with learning about woodworking, sleeping in a teepee and becoming accustomed to nature. The Ellenwood Lake Provincial Park is minutes away, and includes canoeing, fishing, rare plant life, a boat launch, a beach, swimming, picnic areas and hiking trails. Tusket also exhibits beautiful heritage buildings and rare bird sightings.

Tusket accommodations include bed and breakfasts.
