Church Point, also known as Point-de-l'Église, is located in Digby County on Saint Mary's Bay. Church Pointe is also the home of Université Sainte-Anne, which was founded in 1890 by Gustave Blanche. The Université is a facility for the higher education of Acadians in Nova Scotia, named after the mother of the Virgin Mary, Saint Anne. Church Point is the home of North America's tallest wooden church structure, the Église Sainte-Marie, built in 1903 and 56 m (185 ft.) high. A town of the same name in Louisiana was the home of many Acadians after the Great Expulsion, of which many returned back to Nova Scotia.

Church Point is home to the Acadian Centre Archives, located at the Université Sainte-Anne campus, which delves into the history of the Acadians of Nova Scotia. Other attractions include the St. Mary's Church, which features a guide in summer months, a local Acadian café, various historical sites and insight into the Acadian culture of Church Pointe. Church Pointe is situated on the west coast of Nova Scotia, just off highway 101, 266 km (165.3 mi.) from Halifax.
