Judique, located in Inverness County, is situated on the Ceilidh Trail near the eastern shores of St. Georges Bay. Initial pioneers to Judique were of Scottish descent, but the name, Judique, is considered to be either French or Mi'kmaq. In 1775, captain and poet, Michael mor MacDonald of South Uish/PE.I., spent a winter on the land with the Mi'kmaq people, during his time with them he wrote a song considered to be the first Scottish Gaelic song written and sung in North America. The song speaks of his fondness of the land.

Judique is home to Cape Breton's Celtic Music Interpretive Centre, which promotes the tradition of Cape Breton music, as well as exhibiting vintage artefacts and historical information. Live shows can be seen from the Celtic Music Interpretive Centre, too. Judique has many annual festivals, a storyteller's gallery, a recreation grounds and boat tours. Judique is located 164 km (101.9 mi.) west of Sydney.
