LaHave is a small village located to the west of the mouth of the LaHave River, and is a member of beautiful Lunenburg County. LaHave is known for its beauty, and at one time was a bustling economic centre of its surrounding area with such industries as shipbuilding and fishing. A famous vessel built in LaHave is the Barque Stag. LaHave is also the proud home of a long-running cable ferry service that travels across the LaHave River. LaHave is located 120 km (74.6 mi.) southwest of Halifax.

LaHave is home to the LaHave Bakery, which has become a new landmark providing year-round baked goods and a comfortable café. LaHave Marine Woodworking, a company that has been building boats since 1986, creates small custom boats and yachts and is a fine destination to visit while in LaHave. The LaHave Outfitters and Marina is a scenic and useful destination, with floating docks, an anchorage and other various assets. LaHave is also home to the LaHave Islands Marine Museum, the Lunenburg County Historical Society and the Fort Point Museum.
