Sherbrooke is a small community located in Guysborough County, and holds the administrative seat for the Municipality of the District of St. Mary's. Sherbrooke is named after Sir John Coape Sherbrooke, once a Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia. Main industries in Sherbrooke are fishing and harvesting grain. In 2005, Sherbrooke was ranked fourth in Canada by Business Magazine for being the best city to do business in. Sherbrooke is a total of 197 km (122.4 mi.) east of Halifax.

Sherbrooke is home to many glorious parks, such as Sherbrooke Provincial Park, which is located on the shores of St. Mary's River, or the Stonewall Leisure Park, which features a stone wall and scenic walking trails, and finally, the Salsman Provincial Park, which includes a rocky beach.

A River Heritage Museum features the history of salmon angling and memorabilia. As well, Sherbrooke Village delves into the history of life in Nova Scotia during the latter half of the 19th century to the start of the First World War, as well as a walking trail and over two dozen buildings on display. Sherbrooke offers guided tours in kayaks, or kayak rentals and the Marina at Sawmill Landing. There's plenty of great fun in Sherbrooke.
