Newburne, located in inland Nova Scotia, is a member of Lunenburg County. It is believed that Newburne garners its name from a forest fire that had burned down much of the surrounding land here. The first grant at Newburne was received by Charles Jodrey in 1846. Main industries in Newburne are both agriculture and forestry. Newburne is situated 57.8 km (3 mi.) north of Lunenburg, traveling on Highway 103 and Highway 10.

Newburne is home to the Lunenburg County Winery, which offers tours and tastings of wines made of local grapes, berries and other various local ingredients. A nearby river offers swimming, kayaking and canoeing among other activities. Indian Falls features a waterfall, hiking trails, fishing spots and pristine scenery. The Parkdale Maplewood Community Museum offers interesting wood crafts and tools, various artefacts, facts and lush gardens. As well, Newburne is close to great architecture, heritage buildings and fine dining.
