At a time, Wolfville was known as Mud Creek and Horton, but was later changed in honour of Judge Elisha DeWolf in 1830. Like a lot of small towns at the time, Wolfville got a significant economic boost when the Dominion Atlantic Railway was established. Since Wolfville is situated in Annapolis Valley, apple growing is a large industry. Wolfville is also the home of Acadia University.

Located along the Bay of Fundy, 100 km (62 mi.) northwest of Halifax, Wolfville tides empty the harbour two times daily. Robert Ripley calls the Wolfville harbour the smallest in the world. Wolfville Bay is also Canada's first fair trade town.

Wolfville encourages visitors to enjoy its small, wonderful harbors; small in stature but high in tide levels. Take a walking tour through Wolfville's vibrant town heritage, and enjoy the museums and historical sites. Walk the dykes built by the French in the 1600s. Explore east Wolfville, and pay tribute to memorials to the Acadians and other various monuments. Enjoy all that the Annapolis Valley has to offer in Wolfville.

Wolfville accommodations include glorious bed and breakfasts, inns and lodges.

Set on an acre and a half of gardens and lawns, this Wolfville Nova Scotia Inn is a registered heritage property built circa 1874. In summer, you may wish to enjoy our heated pool or just relax in the garden. In winter, both cross country and downhill skiing are available in the area. Bird watching is a favoured pursuit in the area. We offer free high speed wireless internet access.
