Black Point is a member of Victoria County, on the northern shores of the beautiful St. Margaret's Bay. Black Point can be reached on Highway 3, just 42.7 km (26.5 mi.) to the west of Halifax. Original settler, Alexander Stewart, came to the Black Point area in 1786, and with a grant of 500 acres. The oldest house in Black Point was built in the mid 1800s, by Dutch settler Alexander Hubley, and is still situated in east Black Point. A Postal Way Office was first constructed in Black Point in 1867, and three decades later in 1898, the United Baptist Church was built. Black Point is a small fishing community.

Black Point is the very proud home of the Black Point Beach, which is boasted as one of the finest Beaches in Hubbards Cove. What makes Black Point Beach so enticing is the vast amount of marine life underwater, which can be seen while snorkelling. Black Point Beach is excellent for swimming at low tide as well. Nearby attractions include kayaking, sailing, various tours, golfing, hiking and biking trails or simply taking in the vast beauty of the St. Margaret's Bay area.
