Lockeport is located in Shelburne County, in the Ragged Islands Bay on the South Shore. In fact, Lockeport was once known as Ragged Islands. In 1761, Josiah Churchill arrived at Lockeport in search of a great place to fish. Initial, Lockeport was one of the wealthiest towns in the province, banking on the success of the fish industry.
