Mader's Cove is positioned on the south western shores of the scenic Mahone Bay, as part of Lunenburg County. Mader's Cove was settled in the mid-1700s by Montbeliardians. In the 1880s, a railway was built, passing through Mader's Cove that led to Lunenburg. Mader's Cove was named after Bernard Mader, a German settler to who arrived with his family sometime in the 1800s. A main industry in Mader's Cove is fishing.
