Margaree Harbour is a beautiful community located on the western shores of Cape Breton Island along the Cabot Trail. Margaree Harbour belongs to Inverness County. Once, Margaree Harbour was known as Havre de Madre, as well as St. Marquerita. Early settlers to Margaree Harbour came in the first decade of the 19th century, of various locations such as Newfoundland, Ireland and England.
